RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE (RNA SYNTHESIS), Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Irvine Lab, to assume a role in the synthesis, purification, and quality control of RNA-based vaccines. Responsibilities will primarily include molecular cloning, in vitro transcription, RNA purification and quality control, cell culture, nanoparticle preparation and characterization. Efforts may also include studies with mice (bleeding, injections, necropsy/tissue harvesting, tumor monitoring), preparing cell samples for flow cytometry and other immunological analyses, and experiment planning and data analyses. Significant contributions will be appropriately recognized by authorship on subsequent publications.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; comfort working with animals and viruses and analyzing, summarizing, and reporting results to researchers; demonstrated commitment to exceeding quality standards, providing exceptional services, and producing accurate and high-quality work; meticulous attention to detail; practiced documentation skills; awareness of basic safety issues and the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. B.S. or M.S in molecular biology, biological sciences, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related area is highly preferred. Experience with molecular biology preferred. Job #17789-3
