MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST, MIT Medical (2 openings), to perform both mammography exams and radiologic imaging for diagnostic purposes.  Will use extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and radiation physics, and radiation dosage to ensure high-quality diagnostic images; perform diagnostic general radiology procedures on infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients; confirm appropriate clinical data, obtain patient histories, and use the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images; communicate effectively with patients and members of the health care team in providing for the emotional and physical well-being and safety of patients while maintaining strict standards of patient care. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  ARRT registry certifications in radiography RT® and Mammography RT(M) certification from a recognized accredited institution; Massachusetts’ license with no constraints; certification from a recognized agency; Massachusetts’ license in radiography/mammography; at least one year of experience as a licensed radiology/mammography technologist; successful passing of the ARRT exam in mammography; detailed knowledge of mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations and ability to learn and master new tasks related to image quality and safety; BLS/CPR; ability to multitask, pay attention to fine details, prioritize, adhere to safety guidelines, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and work as part of a team and with those from diverse backgrounds; comfort with potential exposure to body fluids, hazardous waste materials, poisonous substances, dust, chemicals, bodily injuries, loud or unpleasant noises, electrical hazards, electromagnetic radiation as in CRTs (VDTs); proficiency with basic computer functions including MS Office; detail-orientation; excellent documentation skills; ability to push/pull/lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds, perform tasks employing arm/hand steadiness, remain stationary and in uncomfortable positions for prolonged periods.  Job #17785-8
