Overview:

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Fellow, to work in the School of Business and Management to support, teach, advise and facilitate the learning of students on an Undergraduate programme specialising in Diversity.

Within the School of Business and Management Teaching Fellows play an important role in supporting the organisation, delivery and assessment of modules. The role of the Teaching Fellow will be to organise and oversee the Managing Diversity module. This module introduces students to the background and context of managing workforce diversity and provides an opportunity to explore contemporary contexts, concepts, policies and practices in the field. More specifically, this module examines theories of equality and diversity and of labour market and occupational segregation and segmentation. It explores diversity and equality across the dimensions of gender, race, disability, age, religion and sexual orientation and considers the organisational processes, which produce and reinforce inequalities of outcome among diverse social groups. The module also considers UK and European legislative frameworks, policy approaches and their implications at organisational level.

The module will be delivered in lecture and seminar format, one Lecture for all students and 6 repeated seminars for small group classes. The teaching is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday from September 2019 at the Mile End campus, a total of 7 contact hours per week.

You are required to be educated or working towards a postgraduate doctorate level qualification (or have equivalent experience), with experience of teaching appropriate to the level of the appointment. You will also have an ability to present specialist material in a logical, coherent and interesting manner. Additionally you will be able to prioritise and balance competing demands, and work independently.

The post is fixed term from September 2019 to end of January 2020. Salary will be £7928.00 inclusive of London Allowance and annual leave entitlement.
