SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe.  Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

Reporting directly to the Chair of the Athena Swan Self Assessment Team, the purpose of this role is to promote and manage work on gender equality in relation to SRUC’s institutional Athena SWAN award application. This will include contributing to the draft application and action plan as well as a range of supporting activities such as providing the secretariat to the Athena SWAN Self Assessment Team, developing and maintaining the website, organising seminars and other events.

In this role you will be responsible for preparing, analysing and interpreting data and information to be used by the Athena SWAN Self Assessment Team and  will significantly influence the detailed content and presentation of data and information used to support the application process. The post holder will have responsibility for making arrangements for internal meeting and events but will be supported by more senior staff in relation to external events. There will be an occasional need to assist with events outside normal working hours e.g. Royal Highland Show etc.

This is a part time role funded for 14.8 hours per week worked flexibly (0.4 FTE). The tenure will be initially for 12 months.

The appointment will be made on the Grade 4 scale.

It is preferred that the post is based in Edinburgh – though there may be scope for some flexibility in this.
