Job description
The University of Central Lancashire wishes to recruit a Technical Instructor to join our Technical Services team who provide support to the Workshop facilities and our Construction and Civil Engineering programmes. The successful candidate will be primarily focussed on supporting undergraduate classes, research and IGA activities within our construction industry/architecture facilities. This post will play an integral role in the expansion of support for not only civil engineering and mechanical engineering subject areas, but the wider university.
The role holder will also be required to undertake general equipment maintenance and safety checks, equipment inventory checks and updates, as well as providing advice as required. The successful candidate will be naturally inquisitive and will possess a range of relevant skills and experience, which they will be enthusiastic to apply in a variety of different applications. They will have the ability to work with initiative and independently, to set priorities and to work co-operatively within a diverse team.
Educated to degree or HNC.HND level, the successful candidate will have the ability to adapt their knowledge and experience to support staff and students across the wide range of subject disciplines we support. Applicants must also have good verbal and written communication skills.
