Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate / Senior Research Associate in Statistics in the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) based within the Nutrition Theme.

You will be part of the NIHR BRC Nutrition Theme, and also the Lifecourse Epidemiology and Population Oral Health Research (LEPOH) Group based in the Dental School, both of which are led by Professor Andy Ness.

You should have some experience in medical statistics, a good first degree, and an MSc in medical statistics or a related discipline. You will work on a variety of projects primarily funded by the NIHR; your main tasks will be to undertake data preparation and statistical analyses, to contribute to writing papers for publication, and you may be required to assist with the preparation of grant applications. You will also be encouraged to develop your own research interests. Although your main responsibility will be research, you may also contribute to the School’s undergraduate teaching programmes. You will also be expected to help provide statistical advice and support to colleagues in the BRC Nutrition Theme and the Dental School.

This post is funded for 24 months, starting from September 2019.
Should you wish to discuss the appointment informally, or visit the BRC Nutrition Theme/Dental School, please contact Dr Sam Leary, telephone 0117 342 3264 or e-mail S.D.Leary@bristol.ac.uk.
