Overview:
Applications are sought for a manager to oversee the smooth running of the state of the art Cryostorage Facility at Charterhouse Square. The post will be within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London and embedded in the Barts Cancer Institute.
Essential requirements for this post include a BSc in biological sciences or an equivalent technical qualification and previous experience working in a biomedical research laboratory, handling cryogenic liquids, tissue handling and managing databases. A good understanding of Health and Safety and a demonstrated ability to work independently are also essential.
The post is full time for one year in the first instance. Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 - £36,420 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
The School of Medicine and Dentistry require that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
