The School of Biosciences & Medicine is at an exciting stage of its development; having recently expanded its teaching requirements across the technical team, we are looking to recruit a senior laboratory technician to take on and expand our new Student Project Lab.
Working within a team of technical staff, you will provide frontline technical support for undergraduate and post graduate projects. The ideal candidate for this post will be a highly motivated experienced laboratory technician with a wide range of bio-science related technical expertise with the added experience of working with UG / PG students helping design, execute and refine projects.
Alongside this job it is expected with the support the laboratory manager in delivering safe, effective lab management of the designated laboratory within the department, so a strong understanding of laboratory health & safety is very important. The successful candidate will be directly involved in delivering training to lab users, monitoring and advising on best practice, supporting and contributing to their projects.
You will work closely with students, academics and members of the wider Faculty technical team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the laboratories and associated services across the School.
Adhering to current health and safety legislation, and best practice at all times, you will be very well organised, practical and diligent. You will also be a strong communicator and prepared to work flexibly.
