INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS

In accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll., Section 77, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, invites applications for the following position:

Department of Public Economics:

  1. a full-time Assistant Professor to teach key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics: Public Finance, Public Finance 2, Reforms in the Public Sector,
  2. a full-time Assistant Professor to teach key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics:  Public and social policy, Sport Policy, Introduction to Public Policies, Public Policy Analysis,
  3. a part-time (20 hours a week)  Assistant Professor to teach key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics:  Accounting and Analyses PA, Management accounting and taxes in the nonprofit sector,
  4. a part-time (20 hours a week)  Assistant Professor to teach key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics:  Public and social policy, Labour Market and Employment Policy, Social Security and Social Services,
  5. a part-time (12 hours a week)  Assistant Professor to teach key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics Auditing and Controling in Public Sector, Public Procurement.

What does the position entail?

  • Teaching key courses ensured by the Department of Public Economics;
  • supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s theses;
  • research activity, including participating in or running research projects and grants; and
  • publishing activity.

What do we require?

    A completed PhD in  Public Economics, Economics or in a related area;

  • publishing results in research in Public Economics connected with teaching key courses (mainly publications in journals with high impact factors and journals included in Scopus);
  • the ability to lecture and publish in Czech and English;
  • experience in participating in research projects;
  • teaching experience;
  • the ability to work in a team; and
  • a research agenda relevant internationally, with at least active participation in international scientific conferences and workshops abroad, including presentation of the applicant’s own research results.

  • an overview of publishing activities over the past 10 years in the following structure: monographs (B), articles listed in the Web of Science and Scopus (Jimp|Jsc), articles not listed in the Web of Science and Scopus (Jost),  chapters (C) – applicants will highlight those publications that are relevant to the position;
  • two publications (connected with teaching key courses in PDF form);
  • a list of research projects the candidate has lead or participated in over the past 10 years;
  • a list of citations to the applicant’s publications in the following structure: Web of Science, Scopus (not in WOS), other (not in WOS or Scopus);
  • an overview of teaching experience (including a list of supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s theses) ;
  • proof of an internationally relevant research agenda;
  • a cover letter including a vision for the candidate’s engagement at the Department of Public Economics (approximately 1 A4 page); and
  • a copy of a diploma or other relevant qualification.
  1. A part-time (12 hours a week) Lecturer to teach key courses ensured by Department of Department of Public Economics: System of Taxation, Auditing and Controling in Public Sector.

  • the ability to lecture in Czech and English;

  • active participation in international scientific conferences or in a specialized seminar held in English;
  • cooperation with a multinational company or an institution;
  • cooperation with experts from abroad;
  • work experience abroad;
  • an internationally recognized professional certificate.
