This is an exciting time for Hartpury, as from September 2018 we became both a university and a college on a single campus; an amazing achievement in the history of our institution.  As a land based residential institution renowned for excellence in sport, equine and land based studies, we aim to provide a unique high quality experience in a focused and supportive environment, challenging our learners in the pursuit of excellence. Hartpury College of Further Education was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in May 2018. The overall effectiveness of leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment and the 16-19 study programmes all received the highest grade from Ofsted.

We are looking to appoint a new member of staff to join a dynamic team, teaching students on our Further Education animal-related courses at levels two and three. The successful applicant will be driven and self-motivated and integral in maintaining the high standards set within the department.  You will need to have a thorough knowledge of a wide range of animals and have good links with industry.

You will be expected to deliver exceptional teaching which will assist students to achieve excellent results. You will be able to inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Animal Management, instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding.  In addition, you will be a personal tutor, advising and guiding individuals in their progress, success and career aspirations.

Ideally, you will possess an HND or equivalent qualification in Animal Science/Management or a related subject and have a teaching qualification, although this is not essential and if our chosen candidate does not have a teaching qualification, our comprehensive staff development scheme will support this.

We offer excellent benefits including a comprehensive continuous professional development programme, 35 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays, onsite fitness facilities, free onsite parking and lots more.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.  All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks.
