Role Description

A vacancy has arisen in the Action, Implementation and Execution Group for a Researcher on Project X, funded by the Economic Social and Research Council. With a doctorate (or close to completion) in a management discipline and knowledge of projects and programmes, you will join a large UK wide research team helping to improve delivery of projects and programmes across government. This is a capacity building grant so we are looking to recruit someone capable of going on to be a senior academic and subject expert in project and programme management.

Working closely with the Project X network, you will have responsibility for designing and delivering research into complex government projects and policy delivery.

You will collaborate to produce and disseminate findings for academic audiences and peer-reviewed journals as well as practitioner audiences. We will also be working to develop your wider academic skills including teaching ability.

You should have a doctorate (or close to completion) in a management discipline and show evidence of publishing the results of academic work in journals (or equivalent). Previous projects and programmes and/or the public sector is highly desirable from both an academic and practitioner perspective. Experience of inter-disciplinary research is desirable and you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work on your own and liaise with senior academics and civil servants.

For an informal discussion, please contact Professor Mike Bourne, Professor of Business Performance on +44 (0)1234 75 4514 or (E); m.bourne@cranfield.ac.uk
