The School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen is a research-intensive academic unit engaged in fundamental and applied research across five Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, and Petroleum. 85% of the School’s research output was ranked as world leading or internationally excellent in the 2014 UK Research Excellence Framework exercise (REF2014).
The School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen seeks to appoint a Chair in Renewable Energy Engineering to strengthen the leadership in research and teaching in renewable energy, with particular focus on the generation of renewable heat and fuels. We invite applications from individuals with extensive expertise in renewable energy, an excellent research track record, outstanding communication skills and a passion for engaged and innovative teaching. Appointment to Chair requires evidence of strong leadership, especially in research, and an outstanding record of achievements. This position is supported with an associated lectureship, which is also currently advertised.
The successful applicant will have extensive expertise in renewable energy, an excellent research track record, outstanding communication skills and the desire and ability to teach well at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Appointment to Chair requires evidence of strong leadership, especially in research, and an outstanding record of achievement.
A competitive remuneration package will be available for exceptional candidates considered at Professorial level.
Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and a 3 year probation period.
