Research Officer (holding the title of Project Manager) in the School of Public Health (several posts) (Ref.: 494304), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, preferably in medical science, science, public health, or related disciplines. They should have relevant experience in managing large-scale research projects.  Experience in managing health-related research projects including clinical trials, multi-site international studies, or community-based ecological studies would be an advantage.  Applicants should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (particularly Cantonese), excellent communication skills and experience in knowledge sharing.  They should have experience in developing PowerPoint presentations and giving presentations.

The appointees will serve as the project manager for various component projects in the antimicrobial resistance research group and manage the operational, coordination and logistical aspects of a wide range of research processes and activities. They will liaise with site partners and funding agencies, coordinate on-site assessments, manage clinical specimens, assure data quality, draft reports, implement ethical review applications and processes, and assist the primary investigator in budget planning and financial oversight.  Information about the School can be obtained at http://sph.hku.hk/index.php.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
