Applications are invited for an experienced academic to join the education team at Northumbria University. Working within the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing, you will work across a number of programmes, but you will be expected make a significant contribution to the PG Certificate in Academic Practice. You will contribute to all aspects of professional studies relating to the academic development of students and the Teachers’ Standards, as well as liaising with academic colleagues across the university undertaking continuing professional development. 
  
You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of policies, provision and effective practice relating to leading on the PG Certificate in Academic Practice. Teaching of the National Curriculum, as well as have experience of supporting the teaching and learning of students on placements. 
 
You will be doctorally qualified in an area related to education and will have a strong track record of academic publication. 
 
We welcome applications from individuals who have an established research profile with high quality publications for the forthcoming REF in the study of Education. Working in the Department of Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing, you will be a member of a vibrant academic community that is multi-disciplinary, with social justice at the heart of what we do. You will work flexibly as part of a team, to contribute to teaching, research, enterprise and engagement. Your role may involve Programme Leadership within the department, and teaching in the area of Education, but you may be required to undertake teaching and leadership roles across the department.
