Role Purpose:

A key position within the People Leadership Team, the role will be accountable for a defined HR portfolio to include; talent acquisition & retention, reward & benefits, talent management & succession planning, staff recognition & engagement and embedding equality & diversity.  The role will provide leadership to a team of HR professionals and support staff ensuring a high quality service provision across the University Group and will deputise for the Group Director - People as required.

Working alongside the Group Leadership team, the post holder will be accountable for driving and embedding strategic people initiatives across the University Group in line with their portfolio.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified to Degree level & hold CIPD or equivalent
  • Significant HR experience including exposure to international/global HR
  • Experience in leading a range of resourcing, talent management & succession planning within a large, complex organisation
  • Experience of developing & implementing reward strategies
  • Experience of managing projects with a group wide scope
  • Undertaken a major process / systems change within the HR function
  • Experience of writing papers for Board Committees
  • Comprehensive influencing skills at a senior and strategic level
