This is an exciting time to join Coventry University and the School of Psychological, Social and Behavioural Sciences. With a University Gold TEF rating, ranking 2nd in the UK for Teaching Excellence, and outstanding NSS scores in our courses we have demonstrable excellence in student experience. We are now looking to appoint a 1.0 FTE Lecturer in Psychology to join our highly regarded team of academics. You will be a highly motivated and experienced academic and/or practitioner with a demonstrable track record in Psychology. You will bea confident and clear communicator with a high level of interpersonal skill, and personal effectiveness to promote an outstanding experience for all our stakeholders. You will adopt a flexible approach to your teaching and be committed to delivering the highest standards of student experience.

The School delivers several undergraduate and postgraduate courses accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any of the core areas of BPS accredited curricula. Applications are particularly welcomed from those who can contribute to teaching in research methods, health psychology, and/or sport and exercise psychology.

The School is recognised for the high quality of its provision of applied and professional courses. This includes a broad portfolio of on-campus, off-campus,blended and distance learning courses both discipline and profession specific.The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including Local Authority Social Services, Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Trusts, education, and the independent, voluntary and the private sectors. Research activity is an integral part of the Faculty's business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in a wide range ofresearch and scholarship. You will be given opportunities to develop your research interests and are expected to contribute to the Faculty's research profile.

Applicants must have a PhD in an appropriate subject and experience of delivering in an educational setting. If from a Professional Practice background, applicants must have a good Honours Degree, and a Masters degree, and appropriate professional qualifications and/or membership and/or equivalent professional qualifications that might be considered as equivalent to a PhD.

Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
