The hourly rate for this post is: Invigilators - £8.75 & Chief Invigilators - £9.95 

Selection days will be held on: Wednesday 20th March (am) and Friday 22nd March 2019 (am)

The University are currently looking to build on a pool of Chief Examination Invigilators and Examination Invigilators to support the invigilation of formal examinations throughout the academic year as follows:

  • 7th May – 24th May 2019
  • 5th August – 9th August 2019

The key responsibilities of all Examination Invigilators will be to ensure all candidates adhere to the Examination Code of Conduct and University Regulations at all times. They will also be responsible for setting up exam rooms before candidates arrive and the distribution and collection of examination papers and other relevant paperwork.

Additional responsibilities for Chief Examination Invigilators will include the distribution and collection of all examination paperwork, checking candidate attendance, and ensuring invigilators are monitoring the examination room effectively. They will also be responsible for making all announcements to candidates before, during and after examinations, the completion of examination incident report, and the distribution and collection of all examination papers, and returning them to the exam desk once the exam has concluded.

Formal interviews will not be conducted for these roles but if shortlisted you will be invited to attend a selection process day on Wednesday 20th March (am) or Friday 22nd March 2019 (am). The session will include a presentation, followed by a scenario test based on the information you will have been provided during the day. Appointment to the role will be subject to the passing of the test.

  • Hours are not guaranteed. If successful you will be offered hours during the above periods, if available. 
  • References will be taken up prior to the selection day, should you be shortlisted. 

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
