Times Higher Education is offsetting 476 tonnes of carbon dioxide to contribute towards the carbon emissions generated by the World Academic Summit. If you also wish to contribute to the offsetting of your personal carbon footprint during this event, we invite you to participate. Each payment of £5.25 will cover 500 kg of CO2.
Carbon offsetting compensates for carbon emissions that cannot be avoided through internal reductions, through the purchase of carbon credits to help sustainable projects around the world. THE has chosen to donate to Natural Capital Partners’ sustainable projects such as its Community Reforestation project in Uganda.
This project helps 6,000 farmers improve their financial security and build sustainable livelihoods through community-based tree planting programmes. It follows the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, which address the global challenges we face.
