Eurosceptics have long doubted the accuracy of statistics emanating from Brussels. Evidence has now emerged of a possible scam to boost the numbers of senior women in higher education. John Sizer, chief executive of the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, in Brussels last week at a European conference on women in science, technology and engineering, was listed in conference documents as "Professor Joan Sizer".
