(Photograph) - Buena Vista: Rock guitarist Ry Cooder, the impetus behind the world fame of the elderly Cuban musicians who have come to be known as the Buena Vista Social Club, receives an honorary degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He was recognised by the university for 'saving a generation of Cuban musicians from obscurity and reintroducing an entire genre of Latin American music to the world'.
