Lloyds Bank

Lloyds Bank is a long-term supporter of the higher education sector, helping to meet the liquidity, payments, working capital and long-term capital expenditure needs necessary in order to ensure your sustainable future.

We have a dedicated team of higher education specialists who understand the opportunities and threats facing the sector including the uncertainty posed by the shifting political, economic and regulatory environment. We work directly with higher education institutions, utilising our industry knowledge, expertise and dedicated product specialists to help you achieve your goals.

Our support for the higher education sector is an important part of Lloyds Banking Group’s Helping Britain Prosper Plan – our commitment to help address some of the social, economic and environmental challenges the UK faces. Lloyds Bank maintains a relationship with around 80 per cent of the UK’s universities, provides more than £3 billion of lending support and has raised over £1.6 billion in public bonds and private placements over the past three years.

Working in partnership with higher education – did you know?

  • This year through our unique Lloyds Bank Scholars social mobility programme with nine university partners, we’re welcoming our 1,000th Lloyds Bank Scholar – opening the doors to students who might not have the financial backing to go to a leading university.
  • Through our relationship with the University of Birmingham, we’ve set up The Lloyds Banking Group Centre for Responsible Business so we can explore how all businesses can work in an ever more responsible and ethical manner.
  • We’ve set up the Lloyds Bank Academy with Manchester Metropolitan University, a free and simple way to learn digital skills, offering both online and face-to-face sessions at locations across the UK.
  • Our Lloyds Banking Group Centre for Business Prosperity in partnership with Aston University officially opens this autumn and will provide thought leadership for UK businesses.

Through this digital hub our sector specialists will be contributing topical thought leadership articles that will explore the issues shaping the future for higher education institutions. This includes meeting today’s financial challenges, being a sustainable business, managing risk and transforming your digital capability.
