International engagement is at the core of our work. We have more than 7,500 overseas students within the University Group from around 150 countries, along with 2,700 EU students, making up almost 40% of our student population, and the fifth largest international student population in the UK. We are also one of the top five providers of trans-national education (TNE) with over 15,500 students studying at 47 locations in 18 countries.
Our International Strategy sets out our internationalisation objectives and is underpinned by developing the international capacity and capability of our staff, enhancing our international research and establishing growth in delivery overseas.
We are in academic partnership with a wide range of institutions across the world. They offer two types of degrees: the chance to study a Coventry degree in a location that may be more convenient to the student than the UK; or studying the early part of an undergraduate degree outside the UK, and then coming to the UK to study part of the degree at Coventry's campus in the UK. Some of our partners offer both types of courses.
At partner institutions, students have access to a wide range of cultural experiences and opportunities because they are in partnership with Coventry University and employability prospects are boosted because of this relationship.
