**Why you should study Bioveterinary Science at WUC…** - You will have the opportunity to obtain Home Office PIL A and B, accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, making you much more employable as a graduate. - You will have the opportunity to complete a Royal Society of Biology Project Management training course in Year 4. - You will get access to the latest Bioveterinary Science equipment – including a CatalystOne® blood analyser and a scanning IR spectrophotometer. - During the first year of study you will become a Student Member of the Royal Society of Biology and, upon graduation, will be upgraded to Associate Member, entitling you to use the AMRSB postnominals. - Our students have the opportunity to undertake an industrial work experience placement in year three and will undertake an independent research project in year four. - Agenda Resource Management, which specialises in placing highly competent, security-cleared facility managers and directors, animal technicians and support staff within organisations in the UK and Europe, helps you to find work placements as part of this course. - You will research into the diagnosis, prevention and management of health issues in animals. - You will be taught by a range of skilled scientists and clinicians with extensive experience of animal disease and research. - You will be able to build on basic scientific principles to develop an advanced knowledge and understanding of the animal both in health and disease, and will be able to accurately apply practical laboratory and/or field skills and diagnostic techniques. - You will gain professional skills in research, investigation and advanced practice, which will equip you for a high level career in that field. Writtle University College is a gold member of the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) Academia Association. The BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science is a multidisciplinary science degree which allows you to study animal health in an industry relevant context. The award is designed for students who are interested in a career in animal health and animal bioscience. In addition to providing a broad knowledge in each of the subjects studied combined with relevant work experience, students gain valuable insight in research which will equip them for an exciting career in animal health science. This academic programme is designed with feedback from industry partners so that the skills and experience gained matches industry need. The programme incorporates a strong industry placement in year 3 for which students are prepared in years 1 and 2. Every student in this programme will have the opportunity to obtain a Home Office PIL A and B license, which means they will be licensed to work with research animals. These qualifications are funded by the College because we feel they enhance employability. BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Science at Writtle means being well prepared for an exciting career in animal health science, whatever that career may be. The programme is a unique blend of the biological sciences relating to animals, the way they work, their health, their diseases and their relationships with humans. Students will be taught by a range of skilled scientists and clinicians with extensive experience of animal disease and research.
