Software Engineering with Industrial Studies - University of Southampton

Our distinctive MEng Software Engineering degree with Industrial Studies will enable you to adapt software engineering to new technologies and challenges to create the next generation of software systems. Key areas of study include programming, software design, analysis, quality assurance and project management, giving you skills that are highly regarded by leading employers. Key areas of specialist study include critical systems, web development, advanced databases and scripting languages. Our project work will enable you to acquire valuable skills in teamwork, project planning, time management and presentation, applying your learning to design and build problems, and working to a brief. 100 per cent of our computer science and IT research has been rated world leading or internationally excellent for its impact on society (REF, 2014). Our outstanding facilities and renowned teaching staff prepare our students to work in a wide variety of areas and fields. Our graduates are in high demand; we have strong relationships with employers and our own Careers Hub website. We also run an annual careers fair and have a dedicated startup incubator, Future Worlds, to support student enterprise. All Computer Science and Software Engineering programmes are accredited by the British Computer Society and by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
