Biomedical Sciences (4 years) - University of Southampton

Study the mechanisms of life and the underlying causes of human disease with Southampton’s Master of Biomedical Sciences degree. Our biomedical science graduates are in demand in a variety of areas of employment in medicine and healthcare-related professions, or clinical or medical research. Southampton’s biomedical science researchers are making a significant impact on today’s society by investigating potential cures for Alzheimer’s, discovering the causes of cystic fibrosis and improving our understanding of cancer. Our four-year, flexible masters programme allows you to join this pioneering team who will share their expertise, allowing you to focus on aspects of physiology and/or biochemistry to research level. In -year-four, you will complete an extensive laboratory-based research project in the heart of our state-of-the-art Life Sciences building or with the research groups based at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
