Staff in this department work closely with Boeing, Airbus UK, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and others. As part of the course, you will work on a research project led by an academic. And you’ll take part in the faculty’s Global Engineering Challenge, a team exercise designed to make you a better engineer. You choose whether to concentrate on avionics or aeromechanics The course also includes initial flight training. From here, you may go on to a local flying school to study for a UK or European pilot’s licence. There’s a strong focus on careers: graduates work in aerospace design, aviation, manufacturing, energy and other specialisms, for employers such as Airbus, BP, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Rolls-Royce and the Ministry of Defence.
