Multimedia Sports Journalism - University of Northampton

**Why choose this course?** If you have a passion for sport and want to work as a sports journalist, this is the degree for you. You will be taught the practical skills needed to record, film or edit for TV or radio. You will learn how to be truly multimedia literate, making the most of social media and designing your own website as well as how to write for sports magazines or newspapers. In your first year you’ll learn about the Sports industry and what it takes to be a sports journalist. In your second year you will look deeper into the different types of sports journalism, and in your final year you will undertake a dissertation. You’ll benefit from working in our fully equipped TV and Radio studios, as well as taking part in free mandatory UK trips and visits. Included on this course is a weekly news day, lasting from 9am - 5pm once a week. Practical work is project-based and you will be writing and sub-editing newspaper and magazine sports copy, producing radio and television sports bulletins with reports and packages to industry standards and deadlines.
