Film Studies allows you to explore the history and theory of cinema, alongside issues of genre and the impact of digital technologies on this rapidly changing art form. A combination of core and optional modules will give you a good grounding in the concepts and approaches in film studies while allowing you to explore film from Hollywood to Japan and Korea, art house to blockbusters. With the support of the Centre for World Cinemas at Leeds you’ll have a wide range of options to choose from. At Leeds, you can become fluent in Spanish while gaining an insight into the history, culture and politics of Spain and Latin America. Core modules will develop your language skills and introduce you to the history and culture of Spain and Hispanic America, and you’ll choose optional modules on topics that interest you. You’ll also benefit from the Spanish government’s cultural arm, the Instituto Cervantes, and the Catalan government’s Ramon Llull Institute, which are based on campus.
