UNSW Sydney

Strengthen your knowledge of history while also expanding your literary and cultural horizons. Our BA in History and Comparative Literature will see you combine these two subjects, which complement each other by giving you an understanding of the historical contexts in which literature is written. You’ll gain a solid grounding in the discipline of literary studies in your first year, before going on to choose from options ranging from fairy tales to British horror to Japanese film. The history programme allows you some flexibility from the first year, and to select from a range of British, European and American topics in later years, including politics and the war on terror. The range of optional modules throughout means you can tailor your studies to concentrate on the areas of history and literature which interest you most. You also have the option to extend your degree by studying abroad for a year.
