You’ll also study pedagogy (the art of teaching), theories of learning and child development, safeguarding, and supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Over the course, you’ll spend 120 days in school, working with experienced teachers to develop your practice. Your placement will be in a different school each year, giving you experience of teaching children from different backgrounds in a variety of settings. If you’re offered a place on this course, we recommended you spend time in a primary school to familiarise yourself with the demands of teaching.
