Global Development and Sustainability (Professional Placement Year) - Bath Spa University

This is the 4 year course which includes a Professional Placement Year. Our Global Development & Sustainability course at Bath Spa University teaches you about the environmental, social, economic and geopolitical challenges facing the developed and developing world. This course will examine the relevant geographical concepts and apply geographical methods and techniques to real-world problems. You will learn principles in physical and human geography throughout your degree, which you will apply to the study and solving of development issues. - A strong vocational focus to the course - Be supported by a friendly team of lecturers, who are excellent teachers and active researchers. - Specialise in areas of particular interest, by choosing specific modules. - Opportunities to undertake an extended work placement, a volunteer placement and an industry-relevant project. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers & Employability Team.
