Who's in who's out? Northumbria

Lynn Dobbs graduated from Northumbria University's School of Arts and Social Sciences in government and public policy in 1996. Now she has become its dean. After a career in local government, she came to Northumbria as a mature student. Following graduation she took an MA in European Union studies at Newcastle University and then returned to Northumbria as a lecturer.

IN

Joanne Colvin joins as senior human resources manager from Gateshead College, where she was director of human resources.

Alan St Clair Gibson joins as director of research in the division of sports sciences from the University of Cape Town.

Thomas Greenough joins the School of Design as programme leader, multimedia design, from Northumberland College.

Helen Manns has been promoted from principal lecturer to associate dean of the School of Applied Sciences.

Pam Dawson has been promoted to associate dean for teaching and learning in the School of Health, Community and Education Studies.

OUT

Barry Chalk , associate dean in the School of Health, Community and Education Studies, is retiring.

Bob Cryan , former deputy vice-chancellor for learning and teaching, has left to become vice-chancellor of Huddersfield University.

Andrew White , former director of corporate development, has moved to West Nottinghamshire College to be deputy principal.
