A 36-hour non-stop dance competition kept 22 students and alumni on their toes as they celebrated the 40th anniversary of the University of Exeter's drama department. The event was based on dance marathons held in the US during the Depression of the 1930s, whose stated aims were to lift spirits in hard times. Staff and students who were not contestants were invited to participate intermittently throughout the 36 hours as dancers and judges.
