Organised by the Biochemical Society, the 'Bioscience 2005: From genes to systems' conference will take place in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 17 to 21 July.

Over 1,500 scientists from universities, research institutes and industry working in biochemistry and molecular biology are expected to attend BioScience2005.

BioScience2005 is the second Biochemical Society Annual Meeting, and will comprise symposia, plenary lectures, medal lectures, oral presentations and poster sessions. The event will also provide a mix of industrial workshops, policy sessions, education workshops, science and society sessions, research colloquia and independent scientific presentations.

The conference topics include: cell architecture: from structure to function; the nucleus and gene expression; cellular information processing; proteins in disease; stem cells and development; mechanistic and functional studies of proteins and large scale screening.
