Our community of influential researchers continues to grow. Over 30% of staff right across the University are involved in pioneering research. As leaders in their field, our researchers continue to conduct and contribute to ground-breaking research.
Collaboration is key to our research success, and our research staff are a huge part of this. Our interdisciplinary approach see’s academics working together across their departmental boundaries, resulting in business experts connecting with psychologists, sport scientists working together with designers, engineers joining forces with mathematicians, and linguists collaborating with social scientists.
Their contribution to new knowledge and understanding creates globally important work that impacts business and industry, public policy, and the quality of people’s lives. This alone makes them integral to the success and life of the University.
Loughborough University researchers are constantly working to solve the issues that today’s society faces, such as diagnosing illness quicker, future proofing global water and energy supplies, reducing NHS costs whilst improving patient care, and improving airfield safety and national security.
Our inspiring researchers also make invaluable contributions to teaching and learning at the University, sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students, and involving them in current research activities which enable them to gain the skills and knowledge arising from top-quality research practice.
They also have a significant impact on the University’s public engagement efforts, through the delivery of public lectures and participation in community events to share their work and expertise.
